MICHAEL CRICHTON:AMERICA'S GREATEST SCI-FI WRITER

Though I came to know about him only through Spielberg’s Jurassic park, I was spell bounded once I got over him.If you want a real page turner then, go for him. But unlike Dan Brown, not all of his books are interesting. I found EATERS OF DEAD and the ANDROMEDA STRAIN quite boring. The latter has an interesting concept (extraterrestrial-
microorganisms breaching earth’s barriers.), but is quite shitty in lots of pages.
Though not a sci-fi, pirate latitudes is also interesting (though not thrilling!),but that’s not the thing with his masterpieces like The Jurassic park, The lost world and the TIMELINE, which are all my all time favorites sci-fi. Just the concept of the Jurassic park is enough to thrill any reader. If you haven’t read any sci-fi so far and are planning to do so in the near future, then go for Crichton.

My personal rankings for Crichton’s novels:
1. THE JURASSIC PARK
2. THE LOST WORLD
3. TIMELINE
4. PREY
5. CONGO
6.AIRFRAME
7. A CASE OF NEED (medical thriller!)
